I arrived in our nation's capital two days before Barack Obama's first inauguration, in 2009. I've been here pretty much ever since. Some say I come with the furniture. My decision to break news for a living came during the pandemic. The first opportunity I had to write a news story was January 6, 2021, when I freelanced the front-page story for El Tecolote, a bilingual broadsheet out in San Francisco.
